GPEN: the evolution of GPON done right!

With the netPower 15FR switch you can forget about expensive GPON base stations and optical splitters. This switch is part of our GPEN concept, intended to provide the speed and versatility of fiber networks while utilizing the advantages of Ethernet, with a lower cost and an easier-to-deploy Ethernet alternative. It is a cheap and easy-to-deploy way for any ISP to deliver Internet to individual apartments.

GPEN (the end customer's GPON analog device) does not require expensive GPON OLT equipment in server rooms, just a regular switch port of the netPower device!

Like GPON, the GPEN solution will require customers to provide power, but instead of powering the GPON ONT device, the power will be used to extend the Ethernet cable (with our GPeR devices) to power the netPower device (analog device). And the best part about this technology: it gives you all the flexibility for a fraction of the price. You can connect netPower to your server room via Ethernet, active optical line, or use it to power one end of your point-to-point wireless backbone link, as it has a PoE Out port, which you can use to power an aggregate link like our Wireless Wire Dish or a security camera, for example.

You don't have to worry about power options in the attic or utility room: netPower 15FR has 15 reverse PoE-in ports, that is, it draws power from the end customers' GPEN devices.

There are two SFP ports for fiber connectivity. It is an outdoor-ready equipment, which allows you to install this equipment in all types of environments, from damp attics to elevator shafts.

netPower 15FR has a non-blocking throughput of 3.6 Gbps, switching capacity of 7.2 Gbps and forwarding speed of 5.4 Mpps.
