Bluetooth sensors play a huge role in IoT setups, where Bluetooth used to transmit data over short distances. You can use these small devices for proximity-based tracking of various objects. For example, if you have a KNOT gateway in different parts of a construction site, you can use these tags to locate construction tools, electrical equipment, and other assets.
Simply attach the tags to the required items and the closest gateway will detect the tags in your vicinity.

These packets contain the MAC address used for identification, as well as telemetry data such as acceleration, incline, and battery charge level. The gateway then sends the data to the remote server using MQTT or HTTP protocols. By default, ad packets are sent once every 5 seconds, but you can change this value to your liking. For example, if you set the interval to 1 second, the battery will typically last two years. Built-in accelerometers can not only detect acceleration (movement), but can also record whether the device has been dropped or tilted (free fall detection). When the product arrives from manufacturing it is in factory mode. In this mode, all components are turned off as much as possible and the MCU is put into the deepest sleep state. Power consumption is kept to a minimum, making this the preferred mode to use when the tag is in storage and / or not in use. To exit this mode, place a magnet on the edge of the label (where the "magnetic switch" is) and hold it down for 3-10 seconds until the LED turns off. After that, the tags come out of sleep mode and go into advertising mode.
In advertising mode, the tag will transmit Bluetooth advertising packets. By default, MikroTik ad packets are sent once every 5 seconds. This can be changed in setup mode.
Setup mode can be entered from advertising mode by applying a magnet to the magnetic switch as in the factory default suspend procedure. After applying a magnet for 5-10 seconds, the LED will turn off and the label will enter setup mode. If you apply a magnet for more than 15 seconds or do not connect to the tag with the setup application, it will revert to advertising mode.
